Our team member Rosa M. Maidhof gave an online talk at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna (mdw), on the 1st of December 2020. She presented findings on the role of the music listening style (music empathizing vs. music systemizing) for acute stress and pain reaction. The talk was part of a science seminar, organized by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Christoph Reuter, University of Vienna, by Ao. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Matthias Bertsch, mdw, and by the working group “Science” of the Austrian Society for Musicians’Medicine (ÖGfMM).

Anja Feneberg, MSc., hat anlässlich der diesjährigen virtuellen Posterkonferenz der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Musikpsychologie (DGM) (3. - 6. Sept. 2020) für den Beitrag "Quarantunes - Eine Ecological Momentary Assessment-Studie zu den Effekten des Musikhörens auf Stresserleben und Stimmung während der COVID-19 Krise" (Feneberg AC, Forbes P, Lamm C, Pronizius E, Silani G, Stijovic A, Nater UM) den "Best Poster Award" erhalten.


Digital Poster Flash in 2020

Our team member, Anja C. Feneberg, was one of 10 young investigators presenting their research in front of an online audience in the context of this years’ Digital Poster Flash organized by the Early Career Researchers of the German Psychological Society (DGPs), Section Biopsychology and Neuropsychology, and the German Society for Psychophysiology and its Applications (DGPA) on 12th of June 2020.

In her talk “Music as Medicine? An Ambulatory Assessment Study on the Effects of Music Listening on Somatic Symptoms and Markers of Stress” (Feneberg, A.C., Mewes, R., Doerr, J.M., & Nater, U.M.), Anja presented findings on the beneficial effects of music listening in two clinical populations suffering from persistent somatic complaints.


German Society of behavioral medicine and modification (DGVM) 2019

Andreas Goreis, MSc, Rosa Maidhof, MSc and Hanna Mües, MSc represented our Stress Lab at this year's DGVM conference in Würzburg, Germany from October 10th to October 12th 2019.

Andreas Goreis, MSc gave a talk on "What mediates the relationship between ethnic discrimination and stress? Coping strategies and perceived social support of Russian immigrants in Germany" [Wodurch wird die Assoziation zwischen ethnischer Diskriminierung und Stress mediiert? Rosa Maidhof, MSc gave a talk on "Effects of participant-selected music vs. researcher-selected music during cold pressor pain on autonomic nervous system activity" [Effekte von selbst- vs. fremdgewählter Musik auf die Aktivität des autonomen Nervensystems während einer Schmerzinduktion] (Rosa M. Hanna Mües, MSc gave a talk and presented a poster on "Examining the link between fatigue/tiredness and sexual experience in everyday life - an ambulatory assessment" [Das Zusammenspiel von Erschöpfung/Müdigkeit und sexuellem Erleben im Alltag – eine ambulante Assessment-Studie] (Hanna M. Dr. Nadine Skoluda represented our Stress Lab at this year's PuG conference ("Psychologie und Gehirn") in Dresden, Germany from June 20th to 22nd 2019. She presented a poster on “Haarprobensammlung – ein Vergleich zwischen instruierten Laien und trainiertem Studienpersonal” [Hair sampling – a comparison between instructed laypersons and trained professionals] (Nadine Skoluda, Isabell Piroth, Clemens Kirschbaum, Urs M. Conference of the German Association of Psychology (DGPs) and Meeting of the Society of Ambulatory Assessment (SAA) 2019

Anja Feneberg, M.Sc., (on the right-hand side of the photo, next to Dr. Dr. Dipl.-Psych. Ricarda Nater-Mewes) represented our Music & Health Lab at this year’s Meeting of the Society of Ambulatory Assessment (SAA) in Syracuse (NY), USA (June 19th to 22nd) as well as at this year’s Conference of the German Association of Psychology (DGPs), Section Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, in Erlangen, Germany (May 29th to June 01st). She presented a talk and a poster on “The Effects of Music Listening on Somatic Symptoms and Stress: A Comparative Ambulatory Assessment Study with two Patient Samples” (Anja C. International Convention of Psychological Science (ICPS) 2019

Dr. Dorothea König represented our Stress Lab at this year's International Convention of Psychological Science ICPS (Association for Psychological Science APS) from March 7th to March 9th, 2019. As President Elect of the International Society of Behavioral Medicine (ISBM), Professor Urs M. Nater, gave the Irmela Florin Memorial Lecture on "The power of music: Is music listening good for your health" at this year's International Congress of Behavioral Medicine (ICBM) in Santiago de Chile, Chile from November 14th to November 17th 2018.

Professor Urs M. Nater, Dr. Dorothea König and Hanna Mües, MSc represented our Stress Lab at this year's ÖGP conference in Linz, Austria from April 12th to April 14th 2018.

Professor Urs M. Nater was invited to give a talk on "Stress and illness – psychobiological mechanisms".
